The opportunity

This is a rare setup for a packaging sales professional: significant open capacity close to your prospects, lead times incumbent suppliers can't match, a mapped target market with named Tier A accounts, and direct executive sponsorship on your biggest pursuits. To be clear about the work: this is a cold start. There is no inherited book and no handed-off pipeline. You will research, call, and open this territory yourself, with an AI-assisted research and outreach stack handling the brief-building and drafting legwork behind you. If you know how to earn first meetings without warm introductions, the territory and everything you build in it is yours. The growth mandate is big and all new business, with a committed anchor account already ramping. The target market includes a handful of programs worth $5M+ per year each, and you will pursue them from day one. When you land one, it's yours: full ownership, full commission credit regardless of how much executive support you bring in, and uncapped. What You'll Do Own new-business revenue for the Central territory, anchored in DFW, with a $1.5M first-year quota in invoiced new revenue. Run named pursuit campaigns on a Tier A target list across food and condiment packers, supplement and nutraceutical manufacturers, personal care, and medical accounts. Drive a small number of large-program pursuits in parallel, including multi-stakeholder buying committees, qualification trials, and staged ramps, with the goal of landing at least one in your first 12 months. Leadership supports your deals; they never take them over. Source your own pipeline: research, prospect, and earn first meetings, supported by AI research tools and a pre-built target list. Use the plant as your best salesperson by hosting 4+ prospect tours per month and converting them into sampling, trials, and first purchase orders. Carry deals from discovery through spec review, sampling, quoting, and close, with engineering and operations support. Build the company's presence in DFW manufacturing and packaging circles through associations, supplier lists, and referral networks. Keep a disciplined CRM: every account, contact, deal, and activity logged, with weekly pipeline reviews. Hand closed accounts to the customer success team through structured onboarding and keep hunting. Your commission continues either way, and new items sold into your existing accounts pay as new business. What You'll Bring 5+ years selling rigid packaging, plastics, or closely adjacent B2B products (containers, closures, labels, decoration, packaging distribution, contract manufacturing) into food, supplement, personal care, or medical buyers. A verifiable track record of landing new accounts against quota. You can walk through the deals, names, and numbers. At least one seven-figure program you personally drove, including the buying committee, qualification hurdles, and ramp, with references who can confirm your role. A demonstrated record of opening a territory from a cold start with self-sourced prospecting. Comfort selling to owners, GMs, COOs, and purchasing leaders, and the patience for 6 to 18 month packaging conversion cycles. Disciplined pipeline habits and clean CRM hygiene. DFW relationships and market knowledge strongly preferred. Based in the DFW metro with the ability to travel the territory weekly and occasionally to company headquarters. Compensation Base salary: $125,000 Vehicle program: $750/month allowance plus $0.20 per business mile Commission: 5% of gross profit on every new account for its first three years, 2% in years four and five, then a 1% residual on the account. Accelerators above 125% of quota. Realistic earnings: roughly $159K in year one at plan, growing to $250K to $275K by years three and four as accounts stack. Uncapped: a single landed $5M program can pay roughly $90K to $100K per year in commission on its own. Full benefits package including medical, retirement, and PTO
